Chapter 7 and 8 Responses


  1. Chapter 7 discusses visual language. Select a visual element from the text and describe why it is important to reading instruction.
  2. Chapter 8 is all about vocabulary, its origins, how to teach it in the classroom. Find a method of building vocabulary that you read about in the chapter that is of interest to you. Explain why you chose this method. Define the method and how you would use it in the classroom.

Holy Smokes...next class will be at the end of September! Time flies when you are having fun!

I feel like everyone left class feeling a little more assured of where we are headed! It is stressful to be in school and have families...but make sure to take time to enjoy this class! Bring an idea to class of what you like to do for your grammar lesson plan. Hint! It might be a good idea for it to match your poster! And great if it would match a concept in your children's literature book.
