Enjoy the video! This is an adult only video and not one to share with students...but it will give you an idea of various backgrounds of words in the English Language. And might even make you chuckle and bring up some questions??

  1. I enjoyed this video. It had some very key points to where English came from and where it is today. I had never really thought too much about where the English language had originated of what words are from a different language. I liked this video because it was short, to the point, and had a little bit of adult humor. There were some interesting facts about the English Language that I feel could be used in the classroom. This was a good video for me to get some background knowledge from.

  2. UG2BK! This video was very humorous and knowledgeable at the same time. It did give you a background of where words in the English language came from. You don't even think about how that many words originated or how they came about. I enjoyed the video. I love the videos with those kinds of animation. You know, like that drawing board animations.

  3. Very enjoyable video. It's interesting to see where words derived from and how they were exchanged amongst civilizations. I especially enjoyed the internet language portion because I feel like I've grown up with a lot of these terms. It's cool to see how language is progressing so quick in the internet age.

  4. I like this video and how they showed animation to show where words originated from. This is definitely a video i would watch again so that i could refresh my memory, if i were to use some of this in my classroom, because it is enjoyable, easy to watch, and a quick way to get touched up on where the English Language originated from.

  5. The animation of the history really made it seem interesting to watch. It was the speaker who narrated who made you want to finish the video. It was interesting to see how video went from explaining the history to now in couple of simple easy steps from the chapters. It kept my attention as I enjoyed the humor.

  6. Watching this video opened my eyes to the English language, it is really interesting to learn the history of English. It is true, maybe the name should be changed because it is no longer a language from Britain. It is something to think about:)

  7. This video was different. I've never seen this video before. It was kind of hard to take him serious because of the humor. But I still enjoyed the humor. I liked the animations in the video. I learned some interesting facts about the history of the english language. I liked how in the video he said that they borrowed some words from the Native American's like raccoon and squash. That was awesome sauce!
